How ABA Works

Who We Are

Kidz Companion, Inc. provides ABA therapy for children (18 months-12 years) and young adults (13-21 years) with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other (often related) development disorders such as:

  • Attention Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Panic Disorder
  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a highly effective method of treatment for ASD that works on a range of developmental areas such as communication, self-care and play skills, and focuses on lessening specific problem behaviors that might cause harm or hamper the ability to learn or function at an appropriate level.

What We Do

Assessments: Provide an assessment of your child’s or young adult’s functioning level. ABA therapy is well-documented to increase cognitive skills (letter and word recognition, reading, and writing); improving the overall level of functioning with self-care, daily living skills, motor skills and social  skills. Our assessment determines the strengths and skill levels of the  child or young adult, the areas in which he or she needs assistance and establishes the foundation for the behavior intervention plan.

Treatment Plan:  We develop an individualized treatment plan that meets your child’s or young adult’s needs to maximize your child’s or young adult’s learning and functioning potential.

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Lead Analyst: Our BCBA or Lead Analyst will monitor, evaluate and update the treatment plan as needed, track progress reports, provide in-home therapist supervision, conduct parent and family training sessions and remain available to you as your child or young adult progresses. Our Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) collaborate to ensure the best possible treatment plan for the child or young adult.

Registered Behavior Technician (ABA Therapist): We assign and ABA-trained therapist who will provide services at your home or in school, working with your schedule to provide the optimal treatment plan that best fits treatment goals. This may be in addition to services you may be getting through the Department of Education.

Parent & Family Coaching: We recognize that positive change can only happen when parents and family are actively involved with treatment. Our BCBA or Lead Analyst provide Parental & Family Coaching sessions to ensure a clear understanding of ABA therapy as it relates to your child or young adult.

Behavior Consultation: We provide support to direct care professionals, school support staff, case managers, clinicians and therapists, hospital administrators, guardians ad litem and support groups. We are committed to providing excellent service to our clients and their children. If you know someone who may have need of our services, please refer them to us so we can help them get the services they deserve.
